Business SA is pleased the Liberal Party has formed government in its own right, because we have strongly advocated for a government that can provide the kind of certainty and continuity of policy-making that is essential for building confidence in the business and employer community, and in our great state.
Business SA chief executive Nigel McBride said it was important to recognise, as had been done during the election campaign, the new Liberal Government’s support for key policy platforms such as payroll tax reform, shop trading hours and public sector reform.
“Business SA looks forward to working closely with the new Liberal Government as we move forward, across a range of policy and economic issues,” Mr McBride said.
“We will work with the new government to grow South Australia’s economy, create jobs, increase exports and attract more investment to this state.
“As the voice of business in South Australia, we will continue to advocate without fear or favour to all political parties, in our efforts to ensure we can build an environment in which all business and employers of any size can thrive and create the positive future which all South Australians deserve.”
Mr McBride said he looked forward to true bipartisanship when it came to growing South Australia’s economic future, where the Liberal Government could work with the Labor Opposition and the elected Independents.
“We would also urge the new government to review our 2018 Charter for a More Prosperous South Australia, which outlines key priorities including public sector reform, modernising shop trading hours, cutting payroll tax and the need for cheaper and more reliable energy.”
