Everyone needs a safe workplace, every day

October is National Safe Work Month in Australia and while workplace injuries and fatalities are steadily on the decline, there is still work to be done. Together with workers and employers we can all make South Australian worksites safe places to be.

If you’re as serious about workplace safety as we are, we’d love you to come and join us during National Safe Work Month for a series of free training and information sessions led by our senior workplace experts.

Business SA is pleased to partner with SafeWork SA and is offering free training and information sessions in both metropolitan and regional locations.

Join us on Thursday 11 October for Business SA's Open Day at our Unley offices where our senior workplace experts will cover topics including:

·         How to balance risk assessment and control while maintaining productivity in your workplace
·         Supplying and hosting labour – do you have everything covered?
·         Healthy workers
·         Mental health in the workplace
·         Drugs and alcohol in the workplace

Aimed at business owners, supervisors and managers, this session will explore the extent of drug and alcohol misuse in Australia and the financial cost to businesses.

You will be provided with an understanding of your obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012, and advice on what to do if you suspect a worker may be misusing drugs and/or alcohol in the workplace.
