Is your business mentally healthy?

Mental health affects everyone at work, from owners to managers and colleagues - which is why Business SA offers a range of training courses aiming to improve mental health and wellbeing within the workplace. Mental health is in the spotlight next month with the launch of our Minds at Work: Is Your Business Mentally Healthy? discussion paper, to be held on Friday 15 February, featuring SA Mental Health Commissioner Chris Burns.

Are your staff comfortable raising mental health issues? Do you know how to help others, or where to find help?

Business SA will be releasing the Minds at Work: Is Your Business Mentally Healthy?  discussion paper at a light breakfast on Friday 15 February.

The paper will cover a range of issues, including new research on how mental health affects productivity and how much this can cost your business, the benefits of mental health first aid training, how to recognise signs of mental ill-health at work, where to find help, and case studies on how small business owners, managers and employees have handled their own battles.

Minds at Work: Is Your Business Mentally Healthy?  will be launched by South Australian Mental Health Commissioner Chris Burns, followed by an address from Rob Cordiner, CEO, Return to Work SA. The event will also feature a panel discussion including:
  • Maureen Dollard, Professor of Work and Organisational Psychology at the University of South Australia and Director of the Asia Pacific Centre for Work Health and Safety
  • Mary Jo Fisher, Beyondblue ambassador and former Liberal Senator
  • John Hannon, WHS manager, Darlington Upgrade Project, Gateway South
  • Nikalene Riddle, Skinnymixers founder
  • Estha van der Linden, Senior Policy Adviser at Business SA
