More than 1200 people have tuned into a Business SA Resilience Webinar tonight as businesses struggle to cope the COVID-19 outbreak and enforced shut down.
The Webinar will be the first of several to be delivered by Business SA to assist businesses to survive through these difficult times.
Business SA Chief Executive, Martin Haese, said the Webinar was well received by the business community.
“As the independent and local peak body for all businesses in South Australia, we are determined to keep the business community informed and united through this unprecedented event,” Mr Haese said.
“We know this week has been deeply distressing and emotional for many in the business community and we heard that again during the Webinar tonight.
“Our team here at Business SA have been inundated by concerned employers contacting our Business Advice Hotline, so tonight’s Webinar was a chance to address some of those concerns and provide the answers to as many people as possible.
“Hosting this Webinar was vital for our business community. Using the power of technology, it meant we were able to reach out to businesses right across South Australia wherever they may be, whatever industry they are in.”
The Webinar heard presentations from industry experts including Business SA member Andrew Heard from Heard Phillips Lieberenz who provided practical strategies on how to restructure a business and manage cash flow, John Beverley from Inventure Partners who provided the latest updates on Government support packages available and Business SA
Senior Consultant, Lauren Krollig discussing industrial relations obligations for employers including managing leave entitlements, redundancies and other options available.
Small Business Commissioner, John Chapman, hosted the Webinar and said he hoped it provided clarity for the business community.
“The Business Resilience Webinar is a great example of the business community and government working together to get information out to business owners when they urgently need it,” Mr Chapman said.
“There is substantial government assistance available and businesses should be using every resource available to access this information. It might help save their business.
“I strongly encourage businesses to seek support from their industry association, like Business SA, they are the experts and are there to help you navigate through this challenging time.”
