Resilience Workshops to give SA Businesses Tools to Survive Economic Turbulence

Business SA has announced a series of Business Resilience Workshops to help South Australian business owners ride through the current wave of uncertainty created by the Coronavirus.

In a two-pronged response to the pandemic, Business SA will also seek to hold a Summit with the leaders of selected business associations from across the State to coordinate further solutions to combat the crisis.

Business SA Chief Executive Martin Haese says businesses were crying out for tools to help them cope with these unprecedented times.

“As the peak body for business in SA, we are committed to ensuring that the business community is informed and united in this time of great uncertainty,” Mr Haese said.

“We are being contacted daily by our members who are looking for advice to help them deal with a range of issues ranging from managing the safety of their staff to what to do when supply chains are disrupted.

“The next weeks and months will be about keeping people in jobs. If we keep people in jobs, our economy will rebound quicker.

“As the independent and local voice for the SA business community, this is absolutely our focus right now.”

Mr Haese said the Business Resilience Workshops will provide business owners with real, practical actions they can implement in their operations as soon as possible to survive and ultimately thrive.

The Workshops will feature industry experts covering topics including employment obligations and options, how to access support programs and short-term tactics to preserve cash flow when sales are down.

“Further to our workshops, we’ll also be leading a Business Resilience Summit where we invite the CEOs, Presidents and Chairs of a number of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry Associations and Business Associations from across South Australia to discuss how we can individually and collectively step up and support the South Australian business community in this time of unprecedented challenge.

“As South Australia’s overarching organisation for all business sectors, Business SA is well placed to ensure this Summit delivers a coordinated action plan to help the business community bounce back from these events.”

Business SA will adopt a flexible approach to the size, format and location of the Resilience Workshops and Summit in line with current health advice. These initiatives will be held in person, online or both. The Workshops will be held in the coming weeks and will be free of charge for Business SA members.
