Your Safety Committee and WHS

Course Outline

A safety committee is integral to ensuring safety compliance remains at the forefront of decision making in the organisation. A safety committee needs to understand how Workplace Health and Safety obligations are to be met within an organisation. They need to understand how to effectively contribute to implementing safety systems and addressing WHS issues as they arise.

This half-day course is designed to ensure safety committee members understand their role and function as part of the committee. It also provides an outline of WHS legislation, codes of practice and guidance around issues including hazardous manual tasks and preventing workplace falls, slips and trips.

Participants will gain an understanding of committee structure, and the importance of agendas and minute-taking. Committee members are also provided with how WHS Laws apply to all duty holders within the organisation.
